In a galaxy far, far away…
Nebula in a jar space science experiment.
A cool May The 4th science project.
Way up in space, there are huge colourful clouds that are formed from dust and gas. This is called a nebula. More than one is called nebulae. There are different types of nebulae.
Items needed to make a nebula:
Cotton balls
Glitter
Paints
A clear glass jar
Water
Mixing cups
A small spatula or stick
Instructions:
Pour some paint in each cup
Add some water and glitter to each paint.
Mix well
Stretch out cotton balls and arrange them in the glass jar (about 1/3 full).
Pour the paint over the cotton ball.
Use a spatula or stick to mix the colour with the cotton balls so that the cotton balls absorb the paint.
Add a layer of glitter.
Repeat the process with different colours until the jar is full then add more glitter on top.
Close the lid.
Enjoy a sparkling, colourful nebula in a jar.
